Every score below comes from the same dust, clumping, odor, tracking and value tests we run on every brand, updated through Nov 14, 2025.

Frisco is Chewy’s own house brand, and the reason to look at it is one number: $0.30 a day. That is the lowest running cost of the 17 litters we have priced. $13.00 buys 40 lbs, which works out to $0.33 a pound.

The thing buyers get wrong is thinking the savings come free. They come out of the air. We weighed 0.58mg of dust at the pour, the highest reading of any litter on our bench, and that is a 5.5 out of 10. Tracking scored 5.8. Pour a fresh bag with your face over the box and you will know.

We tested one bag across four cats in two homes and it scored 8.0 out of 10 overall, carried by a 9.4 value score. Clumping was 58 of every 100 clumps surviving the three-foot drop, the lowest survival rate we have recorded. Scoop daily and it works fine.

5 Things to Know Before You Buy Frisco

  1. 1.It is the cheapest litter we have priced, at $0.30 a day. The next cheapest is pine pellets at $0.31 and the dearest is tofu at $0.97.
  2. 2.Dust is the price you pay. 0.58mg per pour is the highest reading on our bench, fifteen to twenty times what the premium clays threw. If anyone in the house has a chest problem, buy something else.
  3. 3.Clumps are soft. 58 percent survived our drop test, the lowest survival rate we recorded. Leave them a few hours to set and lift them flat.
  4. 4.It handles a busy box. Four cats in two homes ran it for a full box life, and a bag lasts about 4 weeks for one cat or 2.8 weeks with several.
  5. 5.It is a Chewy house brand, so it arrives with the rest of a Chewy order and not from a shelf. Convenient if you already buy there, awkward if you need a bag tonight.

Frisco FAQ

Is Frisco litter any good?

For the money, yes. It scored 8.0 out of 10 overall and 9.4 on value. The catch is dust at 0.58mg per pour and soft clumps at 58 percent survival. It is a fine litter if you scoop every day and pour it at arm’s length.

How much does Frisco cost per month?

About $9 a month for one cat at our measured $0.30 a day. A bag is $13.00 for 40 lbs and lasts roughly 4 weeks with one cat, or about 2.8 weeks in a multi-cat home.

Frisco or a name-brand clay?

Frisco wins on price by a wide margin and loses on dust and clump strength to every clay we tested. If dust matters in your home, the premium clays read 0.03mg to 0.04mg per pour against Frisco’s 0.58mg, and they cost $0.43 to $0.56 a day.
