Tuft + Paw is bought as a performance litter and it is really a housekeeping one. The thing it does better than almost anything on our bench is stay where you put it. Is Tuft + Paw worth $29 for 9 lbs?
Only if a clean floor is worth $0.97 a day to you. It scored 9.2 on tracking and 9.3 on dust, the two things that make a box annoying in a small flat. On clumping it scored 78 percent survival, which the hardest clay beats at 98 percent for a third of the money.
What is it actually made of?
Soy and tofu. It behaves like a light clumping granule rather than a pellet, so your normal box and scoop work with no changes.
Is it good for a multi-cat house?
The cost says no. A bag drops to about 2.5 weeks with several cats, so you are refilling nearly twice as often at the highest price per day on our list. For several cats, look at a hard-clumping clay or the walnut bag instead.
